As we all celebrate Memorial Day with picnics, celebrations, family and friends, let us all paws to remember all of our fallen service men, women and canines. Yes, many of my fellow dogs have given their lives to protect us from dangers to these great United States both foreign and domestic.
My dear friend Emma from the blog My GBGV Life highlighted a very important bill we all should help get passed. Here is what she said in her blog: "In order to better recognize the contributions of America’s military dogs, the ASPCA has introduced Bill S2134, the “Canine Members of the Armed Forces Act.” This Act will reclassify Military Working Dogs as “canine members of the armed forces” instead of “equipment” and will institute programs to assure their health and well-being after retirement from service- all without using federal funds. Please help us honor these wonderful dogs by contacting your Senators and urging them to cosponsor this Act. For more information go to: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/s2134"
